On the day of the election, one Facebook post reached 1033 people, 105 engagements, and 23 shares. I think that was a great accomplishment, especially with 30 days to get the word out.
Anne got into the race in October 2019. I team had a month to campaign for her before the Tuesday, November 5, 2019 election. I had my work cut out for me. My plan in 30 days was to focus on Anne’s relationship in the Manor Community. Anne was a member of City Council, volunteered for several organizations, and is nicknamed the glasses lady at her job in Walmart.
My strategy to accomplish this task was to delegate to my team to collect as much content as possible. I wanted photos and videos of everything Anne was doing for the next 30 days. From the collected content, I edited the photos and created slide shows, promotional videos for Anne’s Facebook page, Facebook ads, and a hashtag #tellastoryaboutanne used to get people to tell a personal story about Anne and how she has made their life a little bit better. With the limit amount of time, I think the campaign was an overall success.

What I learned from this experience is that time is a commodity. Also, I learned about the importance of fundraising and a media budget for a political campaign. I loved this experience and hope to do similar work in the future.
